Protabaco did not arrive at tobacco machinery from the outside. The company began in tobacco itself — trading raw material, then manufacturing tobacco products — before moving into machinery components and the free-zone operation it runs today.
That order matters. We learned what a stopped line costs by running production ourselves: extended lead times, thin inventory, rising procurement costs, and shrinking support for older equipment platforms.
Protabaco exists to close that gap. The business is led by people with more than thirty years in cigarette machinery, and we keep production lines running by holding stock, verifying compatibility before purchase, and coordinating procurement across established industrial manufacturers.

Our inventory is drawn from legacy machine platforms, with primary depth across Molins, Hauni and G.D. We also stock Focke, SASIB and AMF.
We do not supply parts for current-generation machines. On recent equipment the drawings remain under active manufacturer contract and no parallel supply exists. For Focke and G.D. our availability is limited to what we already hold in stock. Where we cannot supply, we will tell you rather than offer a substitute.
What “original-source” means. Most components on a cigarette line were never made by the machine builder. Knives, belts, tapes and wear parts came from specialist manufacturers who supplied Molins, Hauni and G.D. directly. Where we can, we buy from those manufacturers — under distribution and alliance agreements, or from stock originating with them — rather than from a copy or a reverse-engineered equivalent. Where we cannot supply from that source, we say so rather than offer a substitute.
